WHC - Sports Facilities Strategy and Study

Tender description

In response to the anticipated growth in population in Welwyn Hatfield and a desire to plan and deliver effective sports provision that will improve and maintain the health and wellbeing of residents as well as aid community cohesion, the Council is commissioning a Sports Facilities Study with a subsequent option for a Sports Facilities Strategy. The purpose of the study and strategy is to ensure that the borough has a framework for the prioritisation, provision and development of sports facilities across the public, private and independent sectors. It will support the implementation of Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council's (hereinafter referred to as the Council) submitted local plan policies relating to the protection, enhancement and provision of community sport and physical activity facilities and provide an evidence based framework to support negotiations with developers who may provide funding or other assistance to improve local provision.
