Loughborough Conservation Area Review

Tender description

Charnwood Borough Council are seeking quotations from suitably experienced consultants for the review of 8 conservation areas in Loughborough to deliver its objective for the protection of the Borough's Heritage. There are 8 urban conservation areas in Loughborough, many of which were designated over 10 years ago. All have existing Conservation Area Character Appraisals and Management Plans. The commission requires: A review of all 8 existing conservation area boundaries to include evidenced recommendations for amendments including areas for possible inclusion within redefined conservation area boundaries. An evaluation of the heritage value and significance of any additional areas. supported by a desk based assessment of historic documents, maps and images. Followed by site survey work in order to evaluate current heritage significance. The information obtained should then be used to inform proposed amendments to the existing Conservation Area Character Appraisals and Management Plans to reflect the recommended boundary changes. A draft and subsequent final report of the evidence will need to include the evaluation of heritage value and significance of any additional areas and recommendations for boundary revisions on a map base. The last date for request of documents is the 14th August 2017, with Quotations to be returned on the 18th August 2017 - 12 Noon.
