Connect 2 Laois for Food is a structured programme of market led innovation, best practice transfer and product and service development. Importantly it will create a synergy between the food sector and support agencies in the county that will aid their development, growth and sustainability. It is aimed at supporting and nurturing start-up and established food businesses in the County and will allow them have access to a programme of supports to improve their businesses. In meeting the objectives of the Program, Connect 2 Laois for Food will provide targeted interventions to assist 30 SMEs in the Food Sector to develop their businesses with a view to providing greater levels of economic growth and employment as well as fostering competitiveness. This project will: • Equip start-up enterprises in the food sector with the knowledge of what is involved in setting up a food business. • Equip established enterprises in the food sector to innovate and kick-start expansion based on growth planning, training, mentoring and sales development. It will focus on helping owners/managers to identify gaps in their business and how they can address those gaps.
