Tender description

The primary purpose of this PIN is to alert the market to an anticipated competitive procurement process by Shepway District Council in connection with the Servicing & Maintenance of its Passenger & Mobility Lifts. The Council owns 15 passenger lifts and 26 Mobility Lifts (Stair Lifts), including 2 Corporate Facilities. The current contract in place for the Service & Maintenance of the lifts expires on 31.5.2018 and it is the intention of the Council to undertake a competitive tendering procurement for the renewal of the contract. All contractors interested should be aware that the competitive procurement exercise aims to award the contracts for the 1.6.2018 start. The tendering exercise will being undertaken using the electronic tendering system ‘Kent Business Portal’ (https://www.kentbusinessportal.org.uk). Interested suppliers will need to register on the system in order to be able to participate when the ITT is published, registration is free. The Council currently have a Servicing & Maintenance contract in place, which is expiring on 31.5.2018 and it is the intention of the Council to undertake a competitive tendering procurement for the renewal of the contract. The service will be for the provision of specialist engineering services for the general inspection, maintenance and servicing of all plant items at not less than the manufacturers designed performance. The awarded contractor will be required to provide a call-out facility for rescue operations and urgent repairs 24 hours per day / 365 days per year and also advise on all matters regarding the correct and efficient working of all lifts. The contract will require compliance with the current relevant specified Standards, Health& Safety Regulations and other applicable Regulations. It is anticipated that the Council will publish the ITT by October 2017 and the exact requirements for participation will be set out in subsequent ITT, when published.
