Wrexham's ACL Partnership seeks to support Welsh Government's ACL strategy by offering a diverse range of courses including both accredited and non-accredited learning opportunities. The partnership seeks to create a framework of providers who are able to provide a range of services to adults. These include: — supporting those taking the first steps into learning, — providing skills for life and embedding basic skills, — providing skills for independent living and skills for work, — contributing to personal development and wellbeing, and — developing active citizenship. (Welsh Government, 2016) WCBC are looking to appoint providers to 2 lots within this Framework: — Accredited Qualifications — These would be defined as courses or provision which met the criteria for the QCF framework, and which offered the opportunity of the service user achieving a qualification at the end of the provision. — Engagement Services — These would be services or provision which supports service users taking the first steps into learning and/or work. These services would contribute to personal development and well-being. It is not expected that these services would provide a qualification at the end of the provision. There are no restrictions on the type of training that is made available to adult learners as this very much depends on the individual needs of each participant.
