Tender description

The Association wishes to procure a Main Contractor to undertake the construction of a new build scheme at 8 Longlands Avenue, to create a social housing scheme with a proposed mix of accommodation as follows: — 6No. 5 person 3 bedroom Houses — 4No. 3 person 2 bedroom Houses — 6No. 4 person 2 bedroom Apartments. Total 16 units. This scheme has been programmed to commence on site within the 2017/18 financial year. A Planning Application has been submitted by the Vendor for the above mix and completion of the site purchase will only occur on receipt of satisfactory Planning Approval. The contract is for the provision of a proposed development of 16 new build social housing units at 8 Longlands Avenue, Newtownabbey. The proposed mix is: — 6 No. 5 person 3 bedroom General Needs Houses — 4 No. 3 person 2 bedroom General Needs Houses — 6 No. 3 person 2 bedroom General Needs Apartments in a three-storey block (to include a lift). The proposed development will include associated vehicle and pedestrian access and car parking spaces. Please note this mix is subject to change based on the outcome of a current Planning Application. The site is a 0.33 Ha brownfield site in a mainly residential area, currently occupied by a derelict warehouse, however it will be cleared prior to the contract commencing. Site surveys are still to be undertaken. The contractor will be responsible for all services etc. to develop this site and for providing, prior to completion, the relevant statutory approvals and documentation. The scheme is to be on site in early 2018. The contract period is anticipated to be 15 months.
