Tender description

To the Provision of Out of Hours and Ad-Hoc Non-Emergency Patient Transport service on behalf of the Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust for a period of 2 years. The Trust is 1 of the largest teaching Trusts in the United Kingdom with a reputation for excellent, friendly staff who provide high quality care from City Hospital in Birmingham and Sandwell General in West Bromwich. Both are busy acute hospitals providing many specialist services and a broad range of emergency services, including Accident and Emergency at both sites. In addition, the Trust provides comprehensive community services to the Sandwell area, including from Rowley Regis Community Hospital, Leasowes Intermediate Care Centre and the Lyng Centre for Health and Social Care. The Trust has an income of 418 000 000 GBP and employs around 7 000 WTE staff. It has circa 900 beds and serves a population of over 500 000. The Trust is investing in the building of the 350 000 000 GBP Midland Metropolitan Hospital which promises to be the largest acute hospital in the region. The Midland Metropolitan Hospital opens in Smethwick, West Midlands during the spring of 2019. Companies are invited to tender for the provision of an Out of Hours and Ad-Hoc Non-Emergency Patient Transport service. The ‘out of hours’ will between 20:00 to 6:00 and the service will be requited 7 days a week, 365 days a year. The service is anticipated to commence on 25.9.2017 for a period of 2 years.
