Tender description

This contract is for the appointment of a Main Contractor for the development of a new Destination Water and Leisure Facility in Coventry. The new facility will be located within Coventry City Centre on a tightly constrained site that is located in close proximity to a Grade 2* listed building (Christchurch Spire) and the High Street Conservation area. Under PCR 2015, the Council undertook a competitive with negotiation process for the appointment of a Contractor to complete the construction of this facility. Following a PQQ stage, 5 Contractors were shortlisted to tender. The Council took 2 suppliers through following assessment of tenders based on first stage requirements using the MEAT approach. The 2 shortlisted contractors were asked to submit a second stage tender which was evaluated to determine the final award. The unsuccessful second placed bidder was paid a 50 000 GBP prize for the time expended in bidding and informing the second stage of the tender.
