Operator to manage Swindon Carriage Works business incubator centre

Tender description

Forward Swindon Limited, on behalf of Swindon Borough Council (SBC), wishes to submit to tender to procure an operator to manage the property known as ‘Unit 3 and Unit 5 of the Swindon Carriage Works’ for a 3 year period, to create an innovation centre for knowledge-based start-up and small companies that will foster a community of entrepreneurs. The outcomes include: • Achieving the vision of creating an enterprise incubator for knowledge intensive start-up and growing small businesses • Occupancy levels (at least 80% by end of contract period) • Accommodating at least 30 start-up and small and medium sized industries • At least five different business sectors represented (as Carriage Works should support a diverse range of businesses) in knowledge based businesses in line with the overall Vision for the Carriage Works • Net income to the council over 3 years in line with business plan targets Full details are provided in the tender documents.
