FRAMEWORK FOR FIBRE OPTIC REPAIRS, INSTALLATION AND SUPPORT

Tender description

The Council requires a provider who can deliver a rapid response fibre optic repair service. In the event of damage occurring to a fibre optic cable the Council will contact the provider who in turn will respond in a timely manner to diagnose the exact location of the damage and put in place a repair as quickly as possible. Depending on the nature and location of the damage, it will be acceptable for a temporary repair to be put in place until such times as a more permanent solution can be implemented. The permanent solution may require a new fibre cable and underground ducting to be installed and it is expected that the provider will have the necessary skills, expertise and qualifications to carry out any civils works, excavations, duct installation, road traffic management, health and safety assessments etc. The service will be paid for on a chargeable call-out basis as the need arises, therefore there is no guaranteed minimum level of spend per annum and there will be no retaining payment.
