Tender description
This PIN is to announce the future launch of a competitive tender exercise for the build of two new Higher Active Waste (HAW) Stores on the Dounreay Site. This PIN is to announce the future launch of a competitive tender exercise for the build of two new Higher Active Waste (HAW) Stores on the Dounreay Site. Dounreay Site Restoration Limited (DSRL) has an immediate requirement for a new HAW drum store extension to its existing liquids immobilisation plant & stores. This will provide additional storage for approved waste packages. DSRL has a future requirement for a new HAW waste container store to provide storage for shielded rigid concrete box (6m3), stainless steel (2m) boxes & Half Height ISO (HHISO) containers to support its decommissioning programme. The HAW waste container store will be built as an extension to the new HAW drum store and will also interface directly with the existing liquids immobilisation plant import / export facility. The scope of works is for the following activities: Civil work for foundations. Construction of store, using reinforced concrete. Manufacture and installation of mechanical systems. Manufacture and installation of E, C & I systems. Integration of and commissioning of systems with DSRL free issued items. The new HAW drum store will be provisioned using NEC Contract Option B ‘Priced Contract with Bill of Quantities’ on a build to print basis. The current construction area is being fully de-risked down to bedrock and includes the removal / diversion of all services to allow the contractor to operate the site under a ring fenced arrangement. The tender documents are scheduled to be issued in the final quarter of 2017 with contract start in March 2018.
