Tender description
The need to build more homes of all tenures remains a priority and increasingly local authorities will play a big part in this with the help of local builders. This workshop is part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), and is for SMEs based in the Black Country. The venue is Wolverhampton Business Solutions Centre, University of Wolverhampton Science Park, Wolverhampton, WV10 9RT. Wolverhampton City Council is addressing the housing crisis with a new initiative to build homes for sale and rent on land owned by the city. The Council has set on a new housing company which will design and develop homes across the city on large and small sites to meet the needs of the community. The Council wishes to use local building suppliers and local house builders to ensure they maximise on the employment opportunities and ensure the money spent, where possible, stays in the local economy. If you are a local house builder this event will inform you of the opportunities to build homes, including on small sites, over the coming months and years, and provide direct access to those managing this programme so you can ask any questions you may have. Agenda • Welcome • Local Homes built by local builders • Small sites programme • WV Living development programme • Making it happen • Panel Discussion A complimentary light breakfast and refreshments will be provided at the start of the event.
