Tender description
The NHS Collaborative Procurement Partnership (NHS CPP) has let a Framework for a Complete Ophthalmology Solution covering all requirements from intraocular lenses, accessories and consumables including machinery, maintenance and repairs. The framework will give member trusts the ability to consolidate their spend under one agreement for consumable and capital spend whilst giving bidders an opportunity to increase business throughout the NHS CPP through a single agreement that reaches all Ophthalmology centers. Participating Trusts are looking for Intraocular Lenses primarily used in small incision Phaco and ‘in bag’ lens placement, that are foldable and injectable with supporting clinical evidence. Bidders are expected to provide Ophthalmic specific instrumentation only. Bidders are expected to be able to demonstrate flexibility in their offer schedule in relation to Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) versus generic Or branded versus approved partner products and consumables, specifically those that may remove the compatibility issues that are faced e.g. Phaco Cassettes to be used with specific equipment purchases. Bidders are expected to be able to provide a full range that will ensure all requirements will be covered by the products submitted within this lot, including but not limited to Ophthalmic Viscosurgical Devices (OVD's) for a variety of Ophthalmic surgical needs. Bidders are expected to provide Ophthalmic specific consumables and accessories only. Bidders are expected to provide more information than just the cost of equipment, ongoing maintenance must be considered. Bidders are encouraged to be innovative in their pricing mechanism which may be reflective of the consumables required to operate the equipment. Further consideration should be given to an Ophthalmic service looking to purchase a range of equipment collectively or individually over a committed period of time. Bidders are expected to be as innovative as the Framework by providing a solution for Participating Authorities who wish to collectively address the specific areas covered within lots 1 — 6. Bidders that provide a response to this lot will only be considered if they have successfully provided the relevant information for each of the specific lots (Lot 1 through to Lot 6). The scoring mechanism for this specific Lot will carried out by any Participating Authority as and when they wish to explore the opportunities outlined by Bidders and will be based entirely on the scoring achieved (Lot 1 through to Lot 6). Bidders are encouraged to consider the financial restrictions involved in offering a world class Ophthalmic department which Participating Authorities may wish to assess through the life of the framework, ensuring that their estate is the most up to date in terms of product life or technology.
