Bord na Móna is seeking Expressions of Interest for the development of a pre-treatment of biomass (steam explosion) process to be installed at one of Bord na Móna's existing peat briquette factories, which currently cumulatively process in excess of approximately 200 kT of solid fuel product per annum. NB. Please note that the competition has been advertised on the E-tenders website on a voluntary basis in order to maximise the market being opened up to this competition. Bord na Móna is seeking Expressions of Interest for the development of a pre-treatment of biomass (steam explosion) process to be installed at one of Bord na Móna's existing peat briquette factories, which currently cumulatively process in excess of approximately 200 kT of solid fuel product per annum. It is envisaged that the pre-treatment of biomass process will replace part of this overall volume output and may increase further with future demand. Tenderers are required to design, supply and install a pre-treatment (steam explosion) process to treat woody biomass for onward use in drying and briquette manufacturing. The extent of the Works shall include the whole of the design, installation and supply of all technology and materials necessary to form a complete installation including any necessary tests, adjustments, all energy plant and equipment to support the process, water source installation, commissioning and maintenance as prescribed and all other incidental sundry components together with the necessary labour for installing such components, for the proper operation of the installation. All Works shall comply with all local and European statutory obligations and Bord na Móna shall become the absolute and exclusive owner of the operation and maintenance manuals and the user manual including all intellectual property rights subsisting therein free from all encumbrances. This competition is not subject to the European Communities (Award of Contracts by Utility Undertakings) Regulations 2007. NB.
