Tender description
Transport for London (TfL) Surface Transport is in the process of redeveloping the Kingston Cromwell Road bus station, which includes replacing the existing building and canopy, installation of mechanical and electrical systems, resurfacing, drainage and lighting. To achieve the desired outcome it is important that the supply chain is engaged effectively so as to avoid abortive design delays, minimise network disruption during the works and ensure that best value is achieved. TfL is considering how it may approach the procurement and is therefore seeking early information from the market through publication of this Prior Information Notice (PIN). TfL requires a design and build contractor to finalise the design (design has been developed to RIBA stage 4a) and construct the new bus station as per the planning consent. For further information please refer to: https://maps.kingston.gov.uk/PropertyServices/Planning/Details?caseNo=1513087 The bus station currently serves 23 bus routes and is used by 12 000 passengers a day which is twice the number of passengers that the station was originally built for. This redevelopment project is intending to enhance the customer experience at the bus station. TfL is inviting Expressions of Interest (EoI) from interested parties with capability for the works scope and will follow up with a brief Market Sounding Questionnaire, the responses of which will assist TfL in understanding the current supply market considerations. Information provided will be used to inform TfL in its continued development of a delivery and procurement strategy and procurement process. TfL at its sole discretion may enter into further discussions with respondents. TfL will manage the process in an open and transparent manner, and participation or non-participation in this early market engagement process will not disadvantage or affect any supplier's ability to participate in the future procurement process. Suppliers wishing to participate in this early market engagement process are invited to register their interest via email to: rossgarlick@tfl.gov.uk quoting ‘Kingston Cromwell Road Bus Station’ for a Market Sounding Questionnaire by 12:00 on Tuesday 31.1.2017. In registering their interest, suppliers should confirm their full company name, the company registration number and provide a single point of contact.
