Construction work for buildings relating to leisure, sports, culture, lodging and restaurants

Tender description

The Services being procured are Main Contractor services, for the development of a new Coventry 50m Swimming Pool and development of Associated Public Leisure Facilities. The new facility will be located at the existing Alan Higgs Centre, the existing facility will be refurbished to house new swimming pool facilities and to enhance some of the existing dry side areas. The Alan Higgs Centre will potentially also soon be the site of the new proposed Wasps training ground development, which is due to be constructed during 2017. This building will be constructed to the South of the existing building. Under PCR 2015, the Council is undertaking a competitive with negotiation process for the appointment of a Contractor to complete the construction of this facility. The PQQ's will be assessed and then the top 5 scoring will be invited to tender. Following receipt of the tender submissions, the top two scoring Contractors following assessment of the received tender submissions (based on first stage tender requirements, for example, overheads, profits and preliminaries), will be shortlisted using the MEAT approach to assessment (Most Economically Advantageous Tender). The shortlisted two contractors will then be asked to submit a second stage tender, based on providing a lump sum fixed price for the works. The final assessment of the two shortlisted tenderers will be based on the final price received at the second stage of the tender. The unsuccessful second placed contractor will be paid a fixed/maximum fee of 40 000 GBP for the time they expend in bidding the second stage of the tender.
