Tender for the provision of passenger transport related services

Tender description

<p>Enfield Council periodically renews passenger transport contracts and a decision has been taken to renew the contracts in 2017. Transport services will include home to school transport for children with special educational needs and home to college transport for young adults with special educational needs. A revised approach to procurement is being used through a Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) and a system of individual route auctioning. A DPS is an electronic framework that is &lsquo;open&rsquo;. This means new operators are able to join at any time during the life of the framework as long as they pass the quality checks to access the framework. The framework will be open for 5 years with options to extend for a further 4 years (2 plus 2). It is intended that the required transport services will be delivered using a mix of different vehicle types (Taxis, Minicabs, Minibus and 9 seat vehicles and mini coaches) plus drivers through the operation of a framework type arrangement. Passenger attendants may be required on some journeys to look after service users and to ensure passengers are not left unattended during pick-ups/drop-offs. There will also be a requirement for the provision of vehicles only on a spot hire, short term and long term lease basis.</p> Keywords: Minibus, ES1743, Coach, 136056, Taxi
