Mini-Competition CCS framework Ref: RM3733 Lot 1 - Supply & Installation of Servers, Storage and Associated Goods & Services for Knowsley Council

Tender description

Under the scope of lot 1 of the RM3733 framework, the council is seeking a partnership approach from a supplier of servers, storage and associated goods and services. This will require the selected supplier to work proactively with the Council in understanding its current and emerging business needs over the 5 year contract period and aligning these with product roadmaps and developments within the server, storage and related products market place to ensure maximum value for money is achieved to meet challenging efficiency targets. In the first instance, there is a requirement to replace and enhance the existing storage component of the Councils Production and DR Cisco/Netapp Flexpod infrastructure and eliminate the use of tape based back-ups. The successful bidder will be required to design and implement the new storage and back-up solution, including migration from the existing infrastructure. At this time, the Council intends to continue use of its Cisco UCS technology and requires bidders to have an established and strong relationship with Cisco in order to continue to service any required purchases and provide support for this technology during the contract period. As well as established relationships with Cisco and the storage manufacturers in use within the Council’s data centres, the successful bidder will have relationships with a number of alternative manufacturers thus allowing them to provide appropriate options to the Council when considering infrastructure strategy and to enable future procurements during the course of the contract. Estimated contract value over the 5 year term between £0.5m to £1.25m.
