Construction, foundation and surface works for highways, roads

Tender description

The scope of these works is to carry out work on the South Lanarkshire Council roads network to assist the Council at times of high workload. The works will include elements of; road drainage, kerbing, ducting, surfacing and other works associated with the maintenance of the road network. The works will be carried out on a Work Package basis. The work packages will vary in size and value ranging from 500 to 40 000 GBP (indicative range only). Individual packages may exceed this higher value and will be procured by a mini-tender process from the contractors who are successfully included on the Framework. The estimated annual spend under this Framework is 3 500 000 GBP. No work is guaranteed to any individual contractor under the Framework. The contract which results from this tender process will be a Framework Contract let under the terms and conditions of the NEC3 Framework Contract April 2013 and subsequent amendments. All work awarded as a result of this Framework will be under the terms and conditions of the NEC 3 Engineering and Construction Short Contract (ECSC) — April 2013. Works which are funded by Glasgow City Region City Deal will also be procured through this contract and issued as separate Call Off Invitations to Tender (ITT). These works will include additional quality questions and additional Z clauses as required. The Framework Contract which results from this tender will run for 2 years, with an option to extend for a period up to a further 24 months in increments of 12 months at the Employer's discretion, subject to satisfactory performance and available funding.
