Tender description

Term Service Contract for delivery of highways related construction, maintenance and associated works as required by a local highways authority. The term service contract Provider is required to manage the delivery of works and the required supply chain covering a wide range of technical skills. The full potential scope will include small to large civil and Highways works as delivered by a local Highways authority. The contract will be a ‘top-up’ provision to the works delivered by the Councils in-house Highways works service. The mechanism for allocation of the works programme between the Contractor and the Council's Highways Service is via a Project Board. A partnering culture between the Provider and the Dorset Highways Service will be a critical element of the delivery of this contract. The contract specification and tender evaluation have a significant focus on this. The contract will be for a minimum period of 5 years with options to extend up to a maximum period of 10 years. The estimated value for the full potential contract duration of 10 years will range between 100 000 000 GBP and 500 000 000 GBP. This value range is based on the minimum of forecast budget to be allocated by the Council and potential grant funding that could be gained by the Council.
