Summary of the work We are currently embarking on a large scale business transformation programme within a key department in the Home Office. The Business Architect will be responsible for developing and maintaining the programme business architecture and high level business design solutions, ensuring alignment with wider HO initiatives and re-use wherever possible. Specialist role Business analyst Expected Contract Length 31st July 2017 (potential to extend) Latest start date 20/04/17 Maximum Day Rate £650 plus VAT for an exceptional candidate. Who Speclialist Work With Business Architecture leads, Change portfolio team, Project Managers, Wider transformation programme and business stakeholders, specifically Business Analysts, Policy Leads, Strategy and Operational Leads, Service Design, Organisation Design, Performance What Specialists Work On Objective: • Develop and maintain business architecture and high-level business design activities. Desired Outputs: • Lead on motivation modelling activity (VMOST) • Lead on Information and Value Stream mapping. • Lead on Capability Modelling and Roadmaps. • Lead on translating the business architecture to identify opportunities for transformation. • Lead on assessment of existing and new business tactics to implement strategies. Success Criteria: • Alignment of architecture activities to the organisational meta- model. • Alignment of architecture activities to wider programmes of work. • Adherence to agreed standards and principles. • Knowledge transfer to permanent staff. Skills & Experience • A proven track record in mapping, developing and improving end-to-end architecture in a large scale enterprise environment • Extensive experience of Motivational Modelling, Value Stream Mapping and Capability Modelling. • Be experienced of working in a range of project delivery environments, with targets set and reviewed on a weekly basis. • Have the people skills to work with senior stakeholders to secure access to people in their working environment. • Effective workshop set up, facilitation and execution. • Be able to develop domain expertise quickly. • • Have excellent interpersonal and influencing skills and a positive approach • Have ability to think creatively and be able to articulate innovative ideas to solving complex business problems. • • Have ability to evaluate information and present in such a way that is easily understood by the target audience, including through written and oral communication. • Have ability to own issues and drive them to resolution. Provide direction to inform sound business decisions based on business priority and technical feasibility. • Have know-how of how to identify and raise project dependencies, whilst working in a wider team with multiple projects in-flight. Nice to Haves • Previous experience using Enterprise Modelling tools. • Knowledge of Business Architecture Guild frameworks. Work Location 2 Marsham Street London SW1P 4DF. Travel to other sites may be required. Working Arrangments Full time Office Hours with some travel for engagement meetings in the UK. T&S will not be payable for travel to sites within the M25. Travel outside of the M25 will be subject to HO T&S policy. Security Clearance SC minimum or ability to be cleared to SC level. In the job spec you mention the supplier should have SC clearance or the ability to be SC cleared, please could you let me know if you will you undertake the clearance? No limit to number of candidates a supplier can submit against a requirement. However only 3 candidates will be shortlisted for further assessment. 5. What is the lead time for feedback once the application is submitted? All submissions will be assessed within one week of the closing date. 6. As there is currently no clear information about the impact of IR35 on DOS2, does this role fall within and outside of IR35? If this is unknown at the moment, will there be an assessment to verify this before the call-of- contract is issued? The requirement has been assessed using the HMRC tool and the role is considered to be outside of IR35.
