Farm Health and Safety Training Programme for Knowledge Transfer Programme Facilitators

This public procurement competition relates to the provision of training of Knowledge Transfer Group Facilitators in the area of Farm Health and Safety. The purpose of such training is to aid Knowledge Transfer Facilitators who will be required to hold a dedicated Health and Safety meeting with their Knowledge Transfer group. Knowledge Transfer Group Facilitators approved under the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine's Knowledge Transfer Programme are required to complete a training course in relation to Health and Safety. DAFM approved KT Facilitators have to complete a 1 day Health and Safety Training Course which will divided proportionally between classroom based tutorials and practical work. The classroom based tutorials will cover the legislative basis for OSH in agriculture, the current safety and health performance of the sector following by knowledge of the guidance available to improve standards. The classroom tutorial will be followed by the practical application of the Farm Safety Code of Practice Risk Assessment approach. This practical element should be carried out on an active farm or agricultural college and will include a 30 minute written review of the complete course. This tender concerns the training of those facilitators. The Knowledge Transfer Programme will run under the Rural Development Programme 2014 - 2020 across six agricultural sectors and these activities are crucial to promote the economic growth and development of rural areas
