Tender description
UWE is placing this PIN for preliminary market consultation purposes only. It is not a formal tender or a call for competition. A subsequent procurement exercise may be undertaken. Further information will be available on the In-Tend portal (https://in-tendhost.co.uk/he/aspx/Home). UWE is seeking Expressions of Interest from the market place on a proposed gas fired Combined Heat and Power (CHP) unit which will feed into a District Heating Networking serving a number of buildings on its Frenchay campus. UWE is seeking feedback from the market on a number of aspects of its proposed CHP project. Interested parties are asked to complete an Expression of Interest Questionnaire. Details on how to do this are displayed in Section VI.3 (the additional information section) of this PIN. The Scope of the project is likely to include i) the supply and installation of an appropriately sized CHP engine, thermal store and ancillary infrastructure, ii) all planned/ unplanned/ reactive maintenance for a defined period (likely to be between 10 and 15 years) and iii) optimisation services of the CHP to ensure plant is operating to its maximum capability. UWE has already made a capital investment in heat pipework creating a backbone to the network, and the proposed CHP will connect into this existing network. For information, a CHP Sizing Validation Study has been undertaken and an engine size of between 1.0MWe and 1.4MWe is anticipated, however interested Suppliers will need to propose their own solutions based upon the proposed Heat Loads. This information will be made available as part of any formal Tender procedure.
