Provision of transport services for home to school (Mainstream Education and Special Educational Needs) and Social Services (Adult and Looked after Children) in the Neath Port Talbot County Borough and surrounding areas. Mainstream Education; 2. Special Educational Needs (“SEN”); 3. Social Services (Adults); 4. Social Services (Looked after Children) Types of vehicles required: 1. The provision of mainstream education transport services require a range of vehicles including licensed private hire vehicles, hackney carriage vehicles and/or Passenger Carrying Vehicles (PCVs) including, where specified, the provision of a passenger assistant. 2. The provision of SEN transport services normally require a range of vehicles including licensed private hire vehicles, hackney carriage vehicles and/or Passenger Carrying Vehicles (PCVs) including the capability of carrying a combination of passengers and wheel chairs, and to provide disabled access and including, where specified, the provision of a passenger assistant. 3. The provision of transport services for Social Services (Adult and Looked after Children) normally require a range of vehicles including licensed private hire vehicles, hackney carriage vehicles and/or Passenger Carrying Vehicles (PCVs) including the capability of carrying a combination of passengers and wheel chairs, and to provide disabled access and including, where specified, the provision of a passenger assistant. Number of routes: Approximately 159 routes will need to be covered as follows: Mainstream Education: 66 routes. Special Educational Needs: 63 routes. Social Services (Adults): 14 routes. Social Services: (Looked after Children): 16 routes. Please note: The above numbers are at the date of this Contract Notice and may change during the tender process. Contract period: Unless otherwise specified in the Specifications of Services for each service and as provided for in the conditions of contract: 1. Home to School (Mainstream Education and SEN) routes will run for a period of 5 years from 1.9.2016 to the end of the academic year in July 2021 with an option in favour of the Council to extend for a period of up to 1 year. 2. Social Services (Adult and Looked after Children) routes will run for a period of 5 years from 1.9.2016 to the end of the attendance year in 2021 with an option in favour of the Council to extend for a period of up to 1 year. Contractors will be appointed on an individual route basis.
