Detailed Analysis of BIM Ice Supply in Ireland

To inform its future investment policy in this area, BIM seeks to engage an appropriate qualified consultant to undertake a detailed analysis of the current ice plant network, the future needs of the sector and the various options available to BIM to meet these demands. The findings of this work will comprise a detailed report to the Board of Directors of BIM. This report will present a number of fully costed business plans (to include current and capital investment requirements) with full consideration of delivery options etc. This report will investigate both the current and proposed future role of BIM in all aspects of the service delivery of ice to its customer base. In particular, the report will include the following key considerations: 1. Develop best estimates of current and likely future demand for ice in key coastal fishing ports. 2. The infrastructure (ice plants) required to successfully meet this demand. 3. The strategic role of BIM (as the seafood development agency) in maintaining ice supply for the seafood sector. 4. Benchmarking against international experience and best practice. 5. Exploring various models of service delivery. 6.
