Tender description

Dacorum Borough Council (hereinafter referred to as ‘the Council’) is seeking to construct 31 new flats and associated communal areas at Stationers Place, Hemel Hempsted. The development site covers 0.33 ha with a gradual level change of approximately 4.5 m across the majority of the site's length however it does plateau and level out towards the rear of the site. The site is located to the east of Apsley high street and the Apsley Mill Retail Park. It is a long thin site that connects London Road, which is to the south-west, and Aplsey Locks on the Grand Union Canal, which is to the north-east. There a couple of small dis-used buildings and borehole on the site which will need to be safely removed/capped. The site is currently vacant but was used as a car park and a small office building. To the north and south of the site, there is mainly residential developments with retail to the west and a small amount of commercial to the east.
