Meals-on-wheels services

Tender description

This contract is required in order to deliver a Meals on Wheels service and as such is to be let in 2 lots. Lot 1: The supply of Individual Frozen Meals as specified in the service specification; Lot 2: The Hire of Regeneration Vehicles to be used in the delivery of the meals. The Meals on Wheels service currently delivers approximately 400 meals per day for 365 days a year. Whilst the Council cannot guarantee this number it is envisaged the number will increase as a result of the support and promotion of the service, by LCC and the providers. This lot is for the supply of individual frozen meals into the central location ready for distribution. Full details can be found within the tender documentation. The service requires the hire of 17 Regeneration vehicles with ovens from the start of the contract. The council may wish to increase or decrease this number at any time and a months notice will be given to do so. All vehicles supplied to this contract to Leeds City Council shall be free of any branding. Any branding and or logos, will be determined by Leeds City Council. The wheel base of these vehicles should be a Citroen Berlingo / Ford Connect/ Nissan NV200 size chassis or equivalent (approx 2,6 metres) with 2 rear doors to open with hinges to the side. The age of the vehicles at the end of the contract should be no more than 5 years after the 1st registration. Full details are available within the tender documentation.
