Tender description

The British Library is seeking a reputable company, with a proven track record in delivering Cleaning and Waste Management Services to a similar organisation with a complex infrastructure and a prestigious public building. Services to be provided, either directly or via sub-contractor, in the Cleaning and Waste Management Contract are: — General management; — Cleaning and housekeeping; — Wash-room and hygiene services; — Window cleaning; — External cleaning; — Specialist cleaning; — Pest control; — Waste management and recycling; — Porterage (Boston Spa only); — Electronic monitoring systems. The contract is to be placed initially for a minimum period of 5 years commencing on 1.4.2016 with options to extend on an annual basis for 2 additional 12 month periods until not later than 31.3.2022 or 2023. Due to the operational difficulties of managing 2 different suppliers on separate sites the contract will not be split into lots. The successful company will be required to comply with the identified core contract condition of payment of the Living Wage Foundation UK Living Wage and London Living Wage to all front line staff engaged in the contract from the contract commencement date.
