Cleveland College of Art and Design is the only provider of specialist art and design provision in the North East of England and is one of only three such colleges nationally. The College provides specialist art and design courses in further education (FE) and higher education (HE) from level 1 to undergraduate degree. The majority of FE programmes are at level 3, and are delivered at the Green Lane Campus in Middlesbrough, with all HE provision delivered at the Colleges additional site in Hartlepool. Most students enrolled at the College come from the five local authorities in the Tees Valley; Middlesbrough, Hartlepool, Stockton-on-Tees, Darlington and Redcar and Cleveland. The College's mission is ‘to provide specialist further and higher education programmes in art and design and related areas as a centre for creative excellence’. Currently the College subcontracts six bus routes for the 2015/2016 academic year, travelling to the Middlesbrough Green lane Campus with a return journey each evening. The service is currently subsidised by the College. The current charge to Students is 0.50 GBP per journey. Students currently pay the driver each time they use the bus service, however there is an arrangement with the existing coach operators to allow up to 5 members of College Staff to travel for free on each of the contracted routes. This agreement is to be maintained under the provision of the new contract. The College will accept and consider proposals for both single and/or double decker buses. Please note that the College intends to add an additional 2 routes to the service (CCAD7 & CCAD8) and that these may be subject to change due to student demand.
