Tender description

The Scottish Ministers acting through Education Scotland are seeking to award a contract to provide a full managed service for the provision of authentication and portal service for Glow: http://connect.glowscotland.org.uk This service will provide the user-facing portal for all Glow services and will be available to the entire Scottish schools sector and other educational establishments (private nurseries, colleges and universities involved in teacher training and national agencies) with a potential user base of up to 2 000 000 people involved in the education of children and young people in Scotland. The authentication provision will give access to content and services through a single username and password. Once logged into Glow, users will be presented with a portal to gain access to all other Glow applications without having to remember and use multiple user names and passwords. A key requirement of the service will be the integration and management of user account provisioning directly from SEEMiS for local authority users (other account provisioning options will be required for non-local authority users).A service desk should also be provided to allow selected stakeholders to log and progress incidents and changes related to the service. A key requirement may also be to undertake the management and administration of the Glow online productivity suite. Currently, Microsoft Office 365 but is also due to be reprocured under a separate procurement exercise.
