GAL wishes to appoint a panel of framework consultants to support its work in planning the future development of Gatwick Airport. This panel will provide technical airport planning input to the early stages of project development in order to define scope and high-level concept solutions. It does not include the detailed engineering or architectural design of specific projects. The physical scope of this work includes most airport infrastructure that has a capacity or service related function and is likely to include runways, taxiways, aprons, stands, terminals, piers, car parks and ancillary operational facilities such as hangars, vehicle maintenance, rescue, fire-fighting equipment and storage. Additionally, it should be noted, that Gatwick Airport currently remains 1 of the Governments shortlisted options for delivering additional runway capacity in the South East of the UK. A decision is expected later in 2016, from Government as to where this runway will be built. Therefore, in addition to supporting the current operation, this Airport Planning framework may be utilised, if any preparatory work for the second runway (such as producing information required for the DCO submission) becomes necessary and, if the second runway is awarded, to assist with tendering the design and construction packages required to deliver the new runway and supporting infrastructure.
