Tender description

Invitation to tender for participation in a Framework for Trainers for the period 2015-2018. The tenders are sought on behalf of the Water Services Training Group, Roads Services Training Group and the Environmental Services Training Group and will provide training to local authorities and their associated contractors/consultants at the five Regional Training Centres offered on both an inhouse and outreach basis.The training groups were first established in 1995 and have been offering training to officer and non-officer grades in local authorities in various disciplines of technical and administrative courses in roads, water and environment for the total period to 31st December, 2014. A total of 227,000 person training days have been delivered at purpose built five Regional Training Centres located as follows: Ballincollig Ballycoolin Roscrea Castlebar Stranorlar The Training Centres are Quality Assured under Quality and Qualifications Ireland and a number of the courses are certified at Level 5 and Level 6. The Centres also offer City & Guilds accreditation. The training network are managed by three national committees representative of the Local Authorities, Department of the Environment, Community and Local Government, Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport, the Environmental Protection Agency, Health & Safety Authority, Irish Water, the National Federation of Group Water Schemes, National Roads Authority, Construction Industry. Three national conferences are hosted each year and cover a wide range of topics including European and National Legislation, introduction to new training programmes and various topics that are relevant to the responsibilities of the local authorities. The national committees have also established a working relationship with the Institutes of Technologies and have recently developed and offered a Level 9 Certification for Engineers in association
