Tender description

The appointment will be for the supply and installation of modular accommodation units on 3 proposed sites within Chelmsford. There are 2 variants of modular unit, single occupant 27 ft x 12 ft and family 42 ft x 12 ft. The layout and size of these units are fixed. The modular unit specification, layouts and proposed elevations are contained in the tender documents. Chelmsford City Council intends to appoint the supply and installation contract to up to 2 tenderers on the basis of most economically advantageous tender (MEAT). Details of the evaluation methodology, evaluation criteria, sub-criteria and weightings that will be used by CCC are set out in the tender documents. The Council has divided this procurement into 2 lots to allow for consideration of the relative merits of off-site modular construction of permanent dwellings, and modular units that are able to be relocated at a later date. The Lots have been divided into 2. Lot 1 comprising Beeches Road and Fox Crescent, and Lot 2 comprising Navigation Road as described in the tender documents. Portable buildings as described in the specification.
