Highways England has a requirement to procure a Pavement Framework. Over the Roads Investment Strategy period the investment in pavements is circa 3 000 000 000 000 GBP (£ 3 bn), approximately 27 % of the total, and we anticipate resurfacing over 3 440 miles of the Strategic Road Network. The Pavement Framework will be primarily related to the supply of materials, plant and labour to carry out bituminous and concrete patching, surfacing and pavement construction operations including planing, paving, iron work adjustment and renewal, texturing, cold applied ultra-thin surfacing (CAUTS), in-situ and ex-situ recycling, application of geosynthetics, footway surfacing and asphalt kerbing. The scope may also include emergency response. This will support: — Renewal of Roads Programme, — Smart Motorways, — Regional Investment Programme. The anticipated contract length will be 4 years and will be divided into 6 Regional Lots. Supply of Materials, Plant and labour to carry out bituminous and concrete patching, surfacing and pavement construction operations including planing, paving, iron work adjustment and renewal, texturing, cold applied ultra-thin surfacing (CAUTS), in-situ and ex-situ recycling, application of geosynthetics, footway surfacing and asphalt kerbing.
