Wirral Council is seeking a supplier to deliver a Business Support Service for enterprises and individuals in, or intending to locate in, the borough of Wirral. This service will provide front-line business information, advice and guidance activity and interventions to strengthen the provision of flexible, responsive, business growth. This contract is primarily for the delivery of a Business Support Service in Wirral, Merseyside. This is currently a Council service operated in-house. Wirral Council is looking to fundamentally change the way it provides this service and is seeking a supplier with the appropriate skills, expertise and infrastructure to operate this service on behalf of Wirral Council. The service will provide: Business Growth Support and Sector Networking; Prosperous Workforce and Entrepreneurship; Business Sector Intelligence; Inward Investor Support; Place Shaping Support. The contract is funded by Wirral Council; max. value 2 029 200 GBP, based upon any possible future extensions/variations to contract. Note: funding allocated for the initial contract period totals 1 300 000 GBP from June 2017 to May 2020. Suppliers are advised that an ‘organised grouping of employees’ has been identified in relation to this service in accordance with the Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations 2006.
