Tender description

DCC required a Contractor to carry out Supervision (Quality Assurance checks) for all of the school crossing patrol officers in Devon. These checks will comprise assessments of procedure, equipment, Health and Safety and the general well being of the Patrol. The supervisors will also include a risk assessment of the highway in which the patrol operates. The contractor will work with Devon County Council and the patrol to manage the level of risk to patrol, customers and motorists at each patrol site. The contractor will also help to ensure that operation of the site, as well as being safe and compliant, is efficient and reduces inconvenience and delays to drivers. In addition to the core work described above there may be some extra Additional Tasks such as additional risk assessments or vehicle and pedestrian counts. The contract term for the authority will be 39 months from 1.1.2017, with opportunities to extend for further periods of up to 36 months.
