North Staffordshire & Stoke on Trent CCG Urgent Care Centre Stakeholder Event

North Staffordshire and Stoke on Trent CCGs have undertaken the design of a new service model for an Urgent Care Centre including a GPOOH provision for the population of Northern Staffordshire; this is in line with best practice nationally and aims to reduce the number of admissions into acute services. This is a service to: a) Stream all self-presenting patients arriving at the ED at the Royal Stoke to determine whether they have a need that can be met in a primary care environment; this in turn will aim to reduce demand on ED services; b) Provide access for patients with an identified primary care medical need who initially present at ED; c) Provide urgent access to a GP during the out of hour's period for patients assessed with a primary care need by the NHS111 service. Commissioners are therefore inviting interested Bidders to an event to be held on Monday 5th December from 1.00pm at Smithfield One Building, Leonard Coates Way, Hanley, Stoke on Trent, ST1 4FA. (Can Bidders please make their way to the third floor of the building and register their arrival at reception; please note that it is not possible to book in at the reception desk located on the ground floor). The purpose of this session is to share with interested bidders our vision for the Urgent Care Centre and obtain your feedback / input in order to shape and finalise the service specification. We would be interested in hearing your views and welcome any suggestions you may have in order to improve this service. A copy of the draft specification will be sent to interested bidders upon receipt of confirmation e-mail of attendance to the event.
