Tender description

Highways England will be procuring a contract for new Salt Saturators for Areas 1, 2, 7 and 14. The contract will provide these areas of Highways England's network with new salt saturators for the use in the production of brine solution. This will be used in our winter service fleet as part of delivering our winter service on the Strategic Road Network. The Supplier is to supply, deliver and install a minimum of fifteen (15) fully operational Salt Saturators to the individual sites detailed in the Bravo folder entitled ‘Depot Details’ as per the supply programme. These sites form Tranche 1 of the indicative delivery programme. There may be an additional requirement of fourteen (14) fully operational Salt Saturators as per the indicative delivery programme shown as Tranches 2, 3 which the Purchaser will confirm and instruct by the 1st of April of each year. There may be a further requirement of up to 31 Saturators represented by Tranche 4 of the indicative delivery programme. Areas 1 and 2 cover Cornwall, Devon, Somerset, West of England, Dorset, Wiltshire and Gloucestershire. Area 7 covers Leicestershire, Rutland, Northamptonshire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire and parts of Warwickshire and Rutland. Area 14 covers Northumberland, Tyne and Wear, Durham and North Yorkshire. Contract duration is 6 years 3 months (including 2 year defects period on each Salt Saturator). The 6 years 3 months will commence from the date of order placement. The 2 year defect period will commence from date of initial commissioning of the equipment. A conducted tour of the depots where required, will be held between the dates in the indicative timetable 2.9.1 of the Instructions for Tenderers. There will be a limit of 2 people per supplier and requests to attend the depot tours must be made within the 1st week of the tender period. Suppliers must register their interest via Bravo and an itinerary will be communicated to prior to the visit. Further details will follow.
