Repair and maintenance services of electrical and mechanical building installations

Tender description

The maintenance and operation of electrical and mechanical engineering services at the National Gallery, London for an initial period of 5 years, subject to performance, and option to extend for a further 2 years. Contract value is estimated over the maximum 7 years. The Building and Facilities Department of the National Gallery requires the services of an experienced mechanical, electrical and Public Health engineering services provider at its premises in Trafalgar Square, London WC2N 5DN. It is anticipated that the contract duration shall be 5 years with the possibility of further extension of up to another two years, subject to satisfactory performance. The service provider must demonstrate skill and experience of maintaining appropriate environmental conditions within prestigious public buildings which accommodate works of art and valuable / delicate artefacts. This includes lighting, heating, air conditioning and humidity control. They shall be required to maintain a permanent presence within the building and provide managers and operatives who are adequately trained and motivated. The service provider must be able to plan ahead and react to particular problems and unforseen emergencies. Health and safety performance is of particular importance.
