Tender description
This tender covers the scope of work for the initial phase of a five-year integrated programme of R&D on nuclear fuel recycle and waste management, to be completed by December 2018. The programme shall undertake research on Aqueous recycle processes as outlined in Section 4 ‘Research Requirements’ p.15 of the ITT, including: i. basic chemistry and technology for dissolution, separations and conversion steps ii. active separations tests on surrogate feeds iii. active dissolution tests on un-irradiated fuels iv. a conversion flowsheet for transuranic (TRU) — containing products v. a minor actinide separations flowsheet for high level waste For background information, the full specification and further information on this project please see the ITT. The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs). However, any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement, and the contract will be awarded on the basis of the most economically advantageous tender.
