Tender description

We wish to procure a Scottish National multi-supplier HEPMA (Hospital Electronic Prescribing and Medicine Administration) Framework for IT systems. HEPMA systems facilitate and enhance the communication of a prescription or medicine order, aiding the choice,administration and supply of a medicine through knowledge and decision support and providing a robust audit trail for the entire process. Initially this will be at Hospital level. The Multi-supplier HEPMA Framework needs to meet both the standard of functionality and the level of safety required by systems in the NHS in Scotland while leaving open the maximum choice of vendor to Health Boards. We intend the Framework to be a multi-supplier framework and where some specific Scottish requirements are not initially met by Bidders they will be given the opportunity to modify their systems to meet our requirements. As each successful Bidder meets all of Scottish requirements they will become active on the framework and available for Boards to call off. Boards will be able to call off as soon as the first supplier(s) are available on the framework and need not wait for others to become active.
