Tender description

NHS SBS's existing Urology Products Formulary has provided a compliant route to market for our Participating Authorities and Customers and initial market feedback to the new tender project has been extremely positive. The new framework will enable suppliers to work with Participating Authorities and Customers to identify further opportunities to determine the clinical efficacy of products for patients, manage stock levels, reduce stock waste, and achieve greater efficiencies and savings. There will be development of formularies from the framework developed and approved by the North West Clinical Network which may be utilised throughout the life of the framework. Participating Authorities and Customers will have various routes to order via this framework, including: — Direct Ordering — FP10 — NHS SC. For use with an indwelling catheter — Sterile catheter valve — Drainage tap mechanism — Procedure for emptying — Connection technique. External Continence Appliance for males. Each pack to contain full quota of measuring guides offering: — Expiry date on the individual sheath packaging — One piece system — Two piece system — Product material — With adhesive liner — Without Adhesive liner — Range of lengths — Range of widths — Separate single sided adhesive strip — Separate double sided adhesive strip. Urine Drainage (including 2 litre drainage bags 500ml leg bags and urine meters) Including Urine Meter and Hospital to Home Packs. The requirement is for a Bagless urine drainage system, designed to replace the use of night urine drainage. The tenderer will be required to offer an innovative solution which has several key benefits for the patient including: — Enhanced level of Patient dignity — Reduced level of Patient anxiety. Foley Catheters and Supra Pubic Catheter Sets: Self-Retaining (Foley) 2-way catheter Self-Retaining Foley 3 — way catheter Suprapubic Catheter Set(s). Nelaton / Intermittent Catheters Tenderers must state: — Classification — Lubricating method — Length: o Compact o Female length o Male (standard) o Paediatric — Clear instructions on how the coating is activated on the packaging plus in outer wrap — Pack to clearly state in bold/large what type of catheter, gauge & length. — To state single use only. — Faecal Management System(s) (FMS) which offers a fully closed system that collects and contains liquid or semi-liquid stool, helping to preserve skin integrity and prevent environmental contamination. — A medical device that will manage the loss of faecal matter. — A medical device that will provide trans-anal irrigation for patients with defecation disorders. — Sterile lubricating jelly in a variety of sizes detailing method of application — Plain lubricating jelly in a variety of sizes detailing method of application — Anaesthetic gel in a variety of sizes detailing method of application. To be grouped into the following categories: — Catheter securing devices — Catheter straps — Male urinals — Female urinals — Urine drainage bag holder. The aim of this Lot is to offer a Dispensing and Appliance Contractor Service for Urology products and consumables on prescription for patients. The tenderer(s) will provide products within the predefined parameters of the Document 5 Specification.
