UK Shared Business Services Ltd, acting as the Contracting Authority, is putting into place a Contract on behalf of the British Antarctic Survey (BAS) . BAS is looking for a supplier capable of providing Oceanic Floats that will be deployed in the Southern Ocean(s) for 2-4 years to capture sub-surface data. . The required Finescale Velocity measurements will be recorded at depths between 5M & 2000M at 5M intervals with the data (and GPS location) being transmitted via the Iridium system. . Each float will also require an Ice Guard - which is appropriate for light sea-ice - along with a shipping crate for transportation to the Southern Ocean(s)
