Ireland Ancient East is a new proposition developed to grow international tourism across the region. Ireland’s Ancient East covers a broad geography of 16 counties (Cork, Tipperary, Waterford, Wexford, Kilkenny, Carlow, Laois, Westmeath, Monaghan, Louth, Cavan, Longford, Offaly, Meath, Kildare, and Wicklow). The key differentiator for Ireland’s Ancient East is that it offers 5,000 years of history in a compact geography. A key motivator for the international visitor is the rich stories told in a uniquely Irish way that bring this history to life; this is an experience they are willing to travel for. The scope of this project is to create the Ireland Ancient East stories and define how they will be told to deliver an experience true to the Ireland Ancient East brand
