Tender description

Manchester City Council is seeking to invite suitable applicants to participate in this procurement process for a full range of Security Services. The estimated total Lot value per annum is 5 000 000 GBP The service provides manned guarding to approx 50 individual sites with alternating hours of cover and different levels of service comprising of front of house, concierge duties, staff support and void properties. All sites are different amounts of hours and some are 24 hours cover also temporary watch cover is part of the contract to supply cover as and when required on a shorter-term basis. This includes 24 hours static cover of New Smithfield Market. This Lot is for the provision of suitably qualified and experienced staff to provide a range of security, stewarding and crowd management services at indoor and outdoor events, organised by or in partnership with the City Council's Events Unit within the local authority boundaries of Manchester. Indicative standard events may include the Christmas Lights Switch On, Manchester Day, New Years Eve Fireworks, Chinese New Year and a range of other events. On average the Specialist markets require cover for around 250 days per year. Security Staff would be expected to engage in Market planning and de-briefings and have input into the appropriate level of security into an event. Staff would also appraise security cover for an event and advise of any adjustments required on a daily basis or in anticipation of other events occurring i.e. home football match etc. Marshalls would be expected to ensure the equitable management of taxi queues and to organise them to enable a fair system of boarding and to act as a deterrent to potential criminal or anti social behaviour at these ranks. This service includes the secure collection, processing and consolidation and onward depositing of negotiable and non-negotiable money to high street banks, nominated cash receiving facilities, and other suitable receiving locations. The Provision of an Intruder, Fire, and Panic Alarm Monitoring Service to approximately 420 premises at various locations throughout Manchester to be used and managed by the Neighbourhood Services Section. The monitoring of alarms requires cover 365 days a year 24 hours a day.
