UCC Establishment of Multi-supplier framework of specialist contractors for Conservation & Restoration Works & Stone Repairs and Remedial Works to Gaol Wall & Portico Phase 2.

Tender description

This competition is to establish a multi supplier framework with a maximum of Five Tenderers (“Framework”) to whom specific assignments may be awarded in due course based on the terms of a contract (“Framework Agreement”), on a non- exclusive basis. This competition is also to appoint a works contractor for the restoration of the old gaol wall and portico at the south west boundary of UCC adjacent to the Western Rd. The extent of works is set out on drawings attached. .For the purposes of record, the restoration of the east section of this boundary wall was completed in 2013. The works generally comprises the removal of foliage and overgrowth from wall faces and top of parapet, temporary removal of limestone elements at parapet level to existing boundary wall and weathering top face of wall including new lead work , masonry works etc., re-pointing of stonework from top parapet to string course approx 1.90m high, removal of defective asphalt, recovering and repairing defective areas with new asphalt over portico, removal of defective pointing and re-pointing selected areas of wall faces, cleaning stone faces including columns and wall faces of portico, removal of all scaffolding , debris and equipment and making good any areas damaged or disturbed.
