The London Borough of Croydon (LBC) is seeking a suitable qualified operator to run all aspects of the newly refurbished Fairfield Halls, a major live performance venue for London benefitting from investment of £30 000 000 GBP restoring it to its 1960s splendour and transforming its functionality. Sitting as part of a wider development, the refurbished Fairfield Halls will benefit from: — New box office and ‘welcome’ experience to improve the entrance and open up the foyer, — Improving the circulation of the building, — Creating more flexible arts spaces which can be used more intensively throughout the day and evening, — Replacing the seats in the concert hall and increasing the capacity in the Ashcroft theatre, — Enabling potential to increase the stage size in the Concert Hall, — Improving the mechanical and electrical make-up of the building, creating the ability for different parts of the building to operate independently, — Improving the food and beverage, conferencing and theatre facilities. The London Borough of Croydon seeks a suitably qualified operator to provide an excellent quality and diverse programme including theatre, dance and all forms of live music. The requirements also include: the desire and commitment to work in partnership with the local authority and other organisations to ensure the venue plays a full and leading role in the growing cultural life of Croydon, the inclusion of community uses, working with local promoters and the provision of first class customer service. The operator should be able to meet all legislative and Health and Safety requirements necessary in running a large scale venue with theatre, catering, bar and conferencing uses.
