Tender description
The Home Office is seeking to change its approach to the provision of core IT and telephony services, including but not limited to end user devices, core enterprise computing stack, service management and support, ongoing maintenance, in line with the expiry of its existing service contract. The End User Compute (EUC) Programme is one aspect of this strategic change, which aims to meet the Home Office's core requirements for reliable, flexible and modern IT for end users. The EUC Programme will put in place an all-encompassing set of IT capabilities and services by transitioning the Home Office to a disaggregated end user compute infrastructure. The EUC Programme is expected to award several service contracts in 2016 and 2017, to facilitate the transition of service delivery from the existing service contract. The procurement of Office 365 (O365) Implementation Services is 1 of these EUC components of this multi-supplier delivery environment. The Home Office requires a cloud-based productivity suite for all end users, including productivity applications, collaborative functions and end user storage for Windows laptops, Windows tablets, mobile devices, thick client user devices, thin client End User Devices (EUDs) and potentially other types of EUDs. The platform selected by the Home Office is Microsoft's O365. The Home Office intends to purchase separately a suitable mix of Microsoft O365 E1, E3 and E5 licences to provide a range of capabilities, such as Skype for Business. The O365 Implementation Services contract will require the supplier to design, build, configure, test and implement the O365 Solution, as well as transition from the existing Office productivity suite and provide early life support, in line with the Home Office's requirements. The transition includes ensuring the delivery of the migration of users and Exchange data from the legacy capability to the new O365 solution, including mailboxes, archives and email domains.
