Shopping centre construction work

Tender description

Nottingham City Council hold the freehold interest in the Broadmarsh Shopping Centre, Nottingham. The Broadmarsh Retail Limited Partnership (part of the Intu Properties Plc group) have a long leasehold interest in the Broadmarsh Shopping Centre. Broadmarsh Retail Limited Partnership wish to appoint a building contractor for the refurbishment and reconfiguration of the Broadmarsh Shopping Centre and Nottingham City Council have agreed to contribute towards the cost of the refurbishment works. Refurbishment and reconfiguration (including significant and complex demolition works) of existing retail and circulation areas to allow the introduction of new retail/leisure areas, introducing/increasing the size of existing roof lights and all associated external works (hard and soft landscaping), utilities works etc. It is envisaged that the works will be undertaken within defined zones and there will be areas where the works will be undertaken adjacent to trading retailers. Procurement of a main contractor to carry out the following works: Refurbishment and reconfiguration (including significant and complex demolition works) of existing retail and circulation areas to allow the introduction of new retail/leisure areas, introducing/increasing the size of existing roof lights and all associated external works (hard and soft landscaping), utilities works etc. It is envisaged that the works will be undertaken within defined zones and there will be areas where the works will be undertaken adjacent to trading retailers.
