The development of digital systems to support delivery is a critical factor in the sustainability of public sector services. All services are moving to ‘digital by default’ for efficiency, and changing demographics mean that digital transformation of health and social care delivery is essential. East Riding of Yorkshire Council (The Council) has developed sophisticated digital systems to support service delivery for leisure centre management, and is seeking to develop and commercialise a range of digital support systems for its services. Current services include: — the internally developed Booking Events and Resource System (BEARS) to support leisure centre management — an extension to BEARS which integrates with GP systems allowing GP's to book appropriate exercise support for patients in need of increases exercise to treat various health conditions — ‘Lifeline’ services providing a range of assisted living devices and associated support services In the current economic climate, the Council needs to achieve multi-million-pound savings and efficiencies over the coming years in order to meet its financial planning targets. In this context, the Council is actively considering how best to progress the development of BEARS and other digital applications and systems to maximise the savings to the Council throughout East Riding, and to commercialise the wider market potential. The Council is now seeking interested partners to be a part of this development and commercialisation process.
